Site Creator- Kevin Freiheit

Kevin is a 22-year-old attending Buffalo State College majoring in Journalism. Kevin lives in Amherst, NY and is the creator of Sabres Hockey Central. He has had a passion for the Sabres ever since he was a kid. He has always enjoyed watching and attending NHL games. Some of his favorite players include Chris Drury, Chris Gratton, Patrick Kaleta and Martin St.Louis.

Kevin enjoys writing, particularly about sports, which was the main reason for launching this site. He also enjoys working with children and would love to someday coach a little league ice hockey team. Feel free to email Kevin with any questions or comments.

Site Administrator- Matthew Deck

Matt is the administrator of Sabres Hockey Central. He lives in Amherst, NY and takes care of all the inside pieces of the website. Matt spends a lot of time working on the little things that make the site so great. We appreciate all of his efforts and everything he does here at SHC.

Matt is currently a Senior at the University of Buffalo. He studies business and is interested in the area of Investment Management. In his free time, he enjoys photography and cinematography along with working on computer and internet projects.

Matt has been with us since August of 2009.

Wallpaper Designer- Chris Downey

Chris Downey contributes by creating desktop wallpapers for Sabres Hockey Central. He currently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina and has always been a huge Buffalo Sabres fan. Some of his favorite players include Ryan Miller, Drew Stafford, John Carlson and current North Dakota right winger and Montreal Canadien prospect Danny Kristo.

Chris’ favorite sports are hockey and soccer. “I love watching the junior games as they are at a quicker pace than pro games, only due to the age of the players,” said Chris.

Chris has been with us since January 2010.

Staff Writer- Tony Fiorello

Tony is considered to be the site’s “insider.” He is usually among the first to report news regarding the Buffalo Sabres and the NHL, whether it be trades, signings, etc. He has been a diehard Sabres fan since 1998, the year he first watched a Sabres game (Game 3 of the second round of the playoffs vs. Montreal- Matt Barnaby scored a hat trick on Mother’s Day with his mom in the crowd.)

Some of Tony’s favorite all-time players include Dominik Hasek, Chris Drury and Ryan Miller. He resides in Amherst, NY and is majoring in Journalism at Buffalo State College.

Tony has been with us since September 2009.

Staff Writer- Adam Qutaishat

Adam is a 22 year old student currently attending the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point majoring in music education. He lives in Stevens Point, Wisconsin where he is the Director of Sports for the radio station WWSP 90FM. He is the creator of Sabres Everywhere, his personal blog of thoughts on the Sabres.

He has been involved in hockey since his youth and currently runs day to day operations of the Central Wisconsin Saints Junior Hockey Team as their Media and Community Relations Director. He has been a Sabres fan his entire life, some of his favorites include: Donald Audette, Maxim Afinogenov, Patrick Kaleta, Andrej Sekera and Nathan Gerbe.

Adam has been with us since June 2010.

Staff Writer- Jonathyn Walters

Jon has been a life long Sabres fan from Boston, NY. He played ice hockey for 11 years growing up. He is attending NU for Sports Management and he aspires to be a sports writer/analyst. His favorite players include, Pat Lafontaine, Dominik Hasek, Ryan Miller, Chris Drury, and Tyler Myers.

Staff Writer- Jeff Pawlak

Jeff is a 20 year old Buffalo Native that loves all forms of Hockey, but especially is a diehard fan of the Sabres. He lives in Cheektawoga, NY and is majoring in journalism at Buffalo State College.

In addition to his sports writing, he is a writer of original fiction, an avid Poker player, and loves going out to the pond or the street for pick-up Hockey games with his friends. His favorite hockey player, and favorite athlete, is Ryan Miller, while other favorite players of his include Tyler Myers, Mike Modano, Joe Thornton and Mark Messier.
