arbitrator to determine a fair contract term and length for an expiring RFA player.
|Entry Level Contract||Usually the first professional contract that a player under 25 signs when beginning his NHL career.|
|Waivers Exempt||When a player is reassigned from the NHL to the AHL, they must pass through waivers (unless exempt).
Waivers allow any of the other teams to claim the rights of the player.
|No Move Clause||Prohibits a team from moving a player by trade, loan or waivers, or assigning that player to the minors without the player's consent.
|M-NTC||Modified No Trade Clause||Less restrictive than a full no trade clause, which prohibits a team from trading a player without their consent|
|35+ Contract||35+ Contract||If a player signs a multi-year contract at the age of 35, all salary and bonuses continue to count
against the team salary cap, regardless of whether or not that player is playing.
