Jordan Leopold traded to St. Louis

Jordan Leopold, a pending unrestricted free agent, played three seasons with the Sabres.

leomugLeopold tallied 67 points (25 goals, 42 assists) in 174 games with the Sabres.

The Sabres have since confirmed the trade, adding in that the team has acquired the Blues’ 2013 2nd round pick along with a conditional 2013 5th round pick.

(Update: Blues’ radio host Andy Strickland reports the 5th round pick will turn into a fourth round pick if the Blues win a playoff series this season.)

Also, it seems as if rookie defenseman Mark Pysyk will draw back into the lineup this evening.

Armchair gms lol. Pittsburgh gave San Jose 2 2nd round picks ( I know one is conditional) for a defenseman. Similar age and career numbers. Why can we only get a 2nd and a 5th that may turn into a 4th. I haven't seen a lot of Murray's career but it seems like we should have gotten better picks in return.

Armchair GM's lol...you're not going to get a good player for Leopold. Draft picks are a good return for someone of his level.

Seems to me like the Sabres are selling, and not Buying! So draft picks are good when selling!

It is a good return for Leopold. Picks will turn into players, which will hopefully help the future of this team.

They're going no where this year and a player with months left on his contract isn't gonna get you players.... Stafford/pominville/miller will get players in return
