I don't see them giving away any of the huge guys at the deadline (Miller, Vanek, Pommers) unless something amazing gets floated our way. Since they will most likely want to get high picks for these guys it will want to wait for the Rookie Draft to make a trade. See what picks we can pick up, see who we can grab possibly like Drouin, MacKinnon, Frk (basically Halifax). With the picks being named in a different way, all 14 non playoff teams having a shot, it would be stupid to trade for a first round pick when you might end up with a crappy pick. Wait until they are announced, see what teams you want to trade with (top 5 pick) and then they will want to make something happen. Another thing is they may want to consider getting rid of Stafford at the deadline if they want to move him. He isnt producing for us (as much as the younger kids are) and he could be an asset somewhere else. If you put him on a line with talented guys he will put up numbers, having him on the 4th line was doing him more harm then good as it didnt let him find his groove. Another move at the deadline could even be Leopold, we have the extra defensemen and with Pysyk showing his skill and IQ at the big show it might not hurt to pick up a depth guy or a pick. All of that being said, they might make a couple of moves at the deadline, but I would be incredibly surprised if any of the big names go (other than Staff)
I hardly think Ryan Miller is "lights-out". He is passionate, however has not been Elite or lights out since the Olympics. He is not worth the 6.25 mill he makes now, and likely will not take the substantial pay cut he needs to on his next contract to stay in Buffalo. Pack your bags Miller!
