The Big Three: Who Would You Rather?

Rate this post

The Buffalo Sabres have hit the skids this season, and obviously been beyond disappointing. With the season swiriling down around the drain, we get one season closer to the most important July 1st since Daniel Briere and Chris Drury left town.

On July 1, 2014, the long tenured Sabres core of Ryan Miller, Jason Pominville and Thomas Vanek all become unrestricted free-agents.

While all three of the aforementioned Sabres have played an adequate role for the franchise throughout their careers, they will count for a combined $18,692,857 towards next season’s $64.3 million dollar salary cap.

With the shrinking cap number, coupled with these player’s high salaries, re-signing all three could prove to be very difficult for Sabres management.

Below there are a few points for each player. We want you to tell us: if the Sabres had to choose one of the three players to re-sign, who would you choose?

Lets not forget people... It takes more than ONE player to make things turn around.... think about it... the french con. Patty, and Alex... Same with the Bills... Kelly had Reed, thomas, Smith... Our current leaders arent failing, they just dont have ENOUGH help.

I wouldnt mind getting a goal scorer for Miller, but talk of Vanek leaving is as dumb as when we sent danny to Philly

I would like to see pominville hit the bricks!! He really hasn't shown to be captain material !! Just my opinion

Agreed. I'd like to see the C on either Otter or Hodgson for next season, but I wouldn't name another captain this season if Pommers leaves at the deadline.

Keep vanek and pominville but the way miller been playing is not good it's the ds fault not helping there goaltender out fix up the d and keep all three of them even if miller misses his wife he stays in buffalo he is one of the best when he has d and milliner needs to make his wife move with him during hockey season so we can't get rid of them we need to let hetch go he I just a wast of cap space

I'd be fine with Miller going sure he wants to play with a team that has a defense. Vanek can go too tired of hearing its OK he only scores 8 goals last half of the season cause he's nursing injuries

None of them deserve to be traded. Just about everyone else on the team can get out of town though.

keep vanek trade the other two, pominville is a weak caption and can bring good players in by trading him
