It was a really good game overall, and both teams put on a great show for the home opener. We can probably expect a lot more games at that caliber as long as the NHL is locked out. I thought the team played a really good game, minus allowing that comeback which was a little bit ridiculous no matter whether this was the Admirals team that just won the Calder Cup. The one thing I completely disliked was this new hybrid icing system that seemed to be put in place last night with no touch up required. I'm completely a fan of player safety and everything, but this system just kills the flow of the game and was laughable in my opinion. Bring back the traditional icing.
Mancari’s shootout winner caps 6-5 victory

Mark Pysyk increased the Amerks’ lead early in the second period.
The Crunch responded with a goal from Mike Angelidis. Despite being outshot 12-3 in the second period, the Amerks managed to allow just one goal. Syracuse took control of the game in the third period, scoring three goals and going on top.
The Crunch showed why they were such a good team, and had the Americans pinned in their own zone. Syracuse got itself into penalty troubles in the third period, giving Rochester chances.
Trailing by a goal, the Amerks had an 5-on-3 power play opportunity in the third period, and Mark Mancari capitalized on it. Mancari was the only one to score in the shootout, moving the Amerks to 1-0.
Rochester went 1-7 on the power play while Syracuse went 2-7.
