Give a honk for the goose.
The first move of deadline day has been completed for the Sabres, and it involves Paul Gaustad.
According to Bob McKenzie, Darcy Regier has dealt the Sabres forward to Nashville, along with a 4th round pick in exchange for a 1st round pick.
Gaustad has played for Buffalo throughout his entire career and was selected in the 7th round (220th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
Now, the spokesman for the “Go green” advertisements is heading to Nashville.
Gaustad has tallied 181 points (71 G, 110 A) in 479 career games. He’s collected 585 penalty minutes as well.
Gaustad will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season, unless he re-signs with the Predators.
