How Much Time Does Ruff Have Left?
Last year, the Rangers took the eighth spot in the Conference with 93 points. This season, Pittsburgh is on pace to finish 8th with 92 points.
The Sabres are currently in 11th place and on pace to finish with 82 points (less now after Tuesday’s loss). In order to reach the 92 point mark, the Sabres would need to earn 52 points in the final 40 games.
In other words, that’s a record of about 25-13-2 (or something similar), and that’s only IF the final spot in the Conference could be won with 92 points.
A lot needs to happen if the Sabres intend on playing in the postseason.
That’s why I believe Lindy Ruff is on the verge of getting fired.
As much as I like him as a head coach, I think it’s time for him to go, and I think that will happen by the end of this month.
After the next two games against Toronto and the Islanders, the Sabres have a road trip of death, which I think could be the end for Ruff.
The Sabres have scored 11 goals in the past 7 games. Buffalo plays the best four home teams in the league to start the road trip.
It would take another improbable run to make the playoffs this year.
Buffalo are five points out of the playoffs and still have 40 games to play.
I’m tired of watching this team play. It’s aggravating and depressing.

We need a new system same players same coach just a new system.
Perfect example, when Zach Cassian came up we loved him he hit caused turnovers created plays, niw blends in.Your system wrecks players.

Solution: Fire Ruff and Regier. Trade Stafford or Roy and a third-round pick to Anaheim for Getzlaf. As much as I loved him for so many seasons, Kaleta needs to go as well. Getzlaf will add some size to a relatively small team. Center Getzy between Vanek and Pominville and you have a true No. 1 line. Then that will free up some ice for guys like Gerbe, Ennis, Kassian, Leino and the ever-irritating Brad Boyes.

Ruff isn't going anywhere, he signed a new 7 year deal last offseason, if you honestly think he will be fired, you're delusional

Ruff denied that his deal was 7 years or 6 years.
He said his deal was a normal coaches deal and TBN thinks that it is 3 yrs plus an option year.
That said, it was less than a year ago that Pegula said "Lindy ain't going nowhere". I doubt he's changed that stance this quickly.
That doesn't appear to be how Pegula operates.
