Report: Sabres out of running for Richards

According to Buffalo Sabres beat writer Mike Harrington and other sources, the Buffalo Sabres are out of the running for free-agent center Brad Richards. Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced that the Sabres did not travel to the Richard’s agent’s office this afternoon. There are various reports stating that the Sabres are still in play to make trades for a number one center but Regier stated at a press conference today that the Sabres squad for next year is essentially been set.
